Get any capsule monster up to level 4

Sent in by R. W. This is how you can get any capsule monster up to level 4, one of the cheapest ways: You should already be able to go to Forfeit Island. When you get there, keep buying 99 vice pliers and feed them to your capsule monsters--don't worry, there's no wasting anything when you start fresh. On level one, the vice pliers should feed them four marks, all the way to the end, evenly (no extra/wasted energy). On level two, it should raise them up two marks, and on level three, it should raise them up one mark for each vice plier. This is very cost effective--each vice plier is only 6000 coins! (Lion Fangs are too expensive for what they have to offer.) For money (about 60,000 coins each battle), I suggest going to the crescent-shaped island in the middle of the ocean (south of the triangle-shaped islands) to fight the very difficult monsters there. You can also get Darby, the Dark Capsule Monster, in a tree there. If you are very ambitious, and want to bring your capsule monsters up to Master Levels, do this: first, get a monster up to level 4 (Foomy H, Blaze Dragon, Twinkle, Green Titan, Stone Head, Big Imp, or Blue Titan). Next, feed each capsule monster one fruit of a capsule monster of the opposite element. However, you must do this at a given level, not just level four. To get each capsule monster up to level M, feed them the following at the given level. JELZE- level 4- Secret Fruit SULLY- level 4- Breeze Fruit GUSTO- level 4- Earth Fruit BLAZE- level 3- Charm Fruit ZEPPY- level 3- Flame Fruit FLASH- level 2- Dark Fruit DARBY- level 2- Holy Fruit. When a capsule monster is at level M, you can only use the level M monster, not any of the other level monsters. For example, when Blaze is at level M, you can no longer use level 4, 3, 2, or 1--Armor Dog. However, if you want to get the "standard" capsule monster back, just feed the monster its standard type of fruit (ex.- Blaze gets Flame Fruit, Sully gets Earth Fruit).

Raise your capsule monsters level from one to three

Sent in by Maxim To raise your capsule monsters level from one to three, go to Parceytle and buy about 30 red berets. Then feed them to your monster.

How to beat the Ancient Dungeon

Sent in by Buiatte Since everyone in your party goes to level one, and you can't bring your items inside the dungeon, you need a few tricks to beat this part of the game. First of all, when you find a blue chest, use Providence to go out of the cave, this way you can ever bring the item with you when you reenter. If you find a Iris treasure, go out as fast as possible, because finding all them it's very difficulty. When you have enough blue chest items to equip all your party, you'll be able to go to the lower levels (60 - 99). If you don't have enough items, I recommend not going, because the enemies there are pretty strong. When you reach the level 99, you'll encounter the Ancient Slime, the boss of the Ancient Dungeon. The Slime doesn't attack you, but it's pretty hard to defeat, because you must take away all his HP in three rounds. You can do this more easily if you have Dekar in your party, equipped with the Dekar Blade (IP Fatal Blow). If you defeat the Slime, he gives you the key to the door at the entrance of the cave, and he is the last Iris treasure; if you don't defeat him, you don't get the key neither the treasure. Remember one more point : Gold Dragons (levels 80 - 98 of the cave) are pretty strong, and defeating them is very hard. You should avoid them.

Tips to beating the Egg Dragon

Sent in by Bubba First of all, you need to be in Retry mode. This will not work in any other mode. Everyone has to be on level 99. Maxim and Guy need to have Dragon Blades from the casino. Now find all the Dragon Eggs and make a wish. The Egg Dragon will be scattered to different locations in the world. Find them again and make another wish. Repeat the process until you have used up all four wishes. Now, save somewhere. Talk to the Dragon again and he'll fight you. Maxim and Guy should use the Dragon Sword's IP when you can. Otherwise, just attack. Selan should use Champion every turn even though nobody needs it because the Egg Dragon goes before you and can do BIG damage. Artea should cast stat raising spells such as Trick and Shield. When those stop working, have him attack too. Don't bother using spells because he is nearly invincible to them. His Scrambled Egg attack can do 500-600 hp of damage to a single character. Sunny-side Up can do 200-300 to the whole party. Easy Over can confuse the whole party so watch out! If you beat him, you get the worthless Egg Sword and the Invaluable Egg Ring which raises all of you stats to 999! However, Guts only goes to 199.

Capsule monster tip

Sent in by Jeff White When you gain capsule monsters, you don't have to feed them what is listed in the box. You can feed them other things too. Also, if the box has an item that is sold in stores, buy it and feed it to the monster. Then feed him some worthless items, and after 2 or 3 items it will be ready for the first item again. If you have money to waste, you can advance the powers of your monsters very quickly. Click here

Dragon eggs

Sent in by Jeff White Here's the location of all 8 dragon eggs. 1. Alunze Castle basement 2. Cave to Sundletan, with Hook 3. Merix, after bridge is fixed 4. North Labyrinth 5. North Lighthouse (3 crate puzzle) 6. Flower Mountain, after spike maze 7. North Cave near Dankirk 8. Divine Shrine, playing notes Once you have all eight eggs (and the sub), warp to Pico. Take Excerion underwater and sail west through the channel to the island. Surface and enter the shrine. If you have all eight Eggs, the Egg Dragon will give you a choice of four wishes: 1. A set of 10 potions (the stat-boosting kind). 2. A set of 20 fruits. 3. Ancient Shield. 4. A set of Super Rings. After selecting a wish, the eggs are scattered randomly around the land. If you want to try for another wish, you'll have to look around all of the dungeons in the game.

Get to the bottom of the Ancient Cave

Sent by Richard Pantoliano It is possible to get to the bottom of the Ancient Cave but it takes a long time. What you have to do is keep on going back into the cave and collect all of the blue chests you can find. If you have found a blue chest, use Providence when you find it to get out. Keep on doing this until you have enough weapons and armor for most of your party. Then, when you are trying to get to the bottom, fight all of the enemies that you find until you reach the 40th floor. Then only fight a few of the enemies you come across until you reach the 66th floor. After that, try to avoid every battle possible until you reach the bottom. At the bottom is a single room with a giant jelly in it called Master. He gives you the choice of fighting him. If you say no, he calls you a coward and you are still left there. So, eventually, you have to choose yes. In the battle all he does is heal your whole team and runs away. After the battle he says that you are strong but that you will never be able to defeat the Jelly Juggernaut. Then he disappears.

Get capsules to Level 2 fast

Sent by Greg Campbell I've found a great way to get capsules to Level 2 fast! Just go to Alunze, and buy 11 long knives, and make sure you have 30+ potions. Now, feed the knife to the monster, then 'force feed' him 3 potions. Repeat until he grows. This also works with any other item that can be bought.

Finding items

Sent in by M. Randall If you equip Selan with the "Engage Ring" before entering weapon's shops, you can buy any item at a discount price. The "Engage Ring" is found in the Ancient Dungeon in a blue chest. This item as well as other weapons, armor, rings, and the Iris items appear randomly throughout the Ancient Dungeon. To keep these blue chest items, find the "Providence" at Level 20 or below. Use this item to get out of the Ancient Dungeon. If you reenter the Ancient Dungeon after saving these blue chest items, you will have these items with you once more while inside! Examples of items besides the Engage Ring are the Blaze Sword, Crystal Shield, Sizzle Sword, Sea Ring, and the Ice Hairband. There are others as well. These items are well worth the search since these are very powerful items which can be equipped!

Get four times the gold and experience

Sent in by Dave Romig, Jr. After you complete the game, an option marked "Retry" appears next to "Start". "Retry" works exactly the same as "Start" does except that you earn 4x the experience and 4x the gold per battle. This makes it much easier to replay the game in the attempt to master it.

Fighting Gades

Sent in by Dave Romig, Jr. You can defeat in the Gordovan West Tower. He fights in full form (same as on Doom Island) with 8000 HP. Defeating him will give each character 50000 Exp. and 50000 Gold and you will receive "Gades blade". The text afterwards also changes slightly but the scenario is still the same (i.e. Gades strikes the party down with lightening and then leaves). The best way to get your levels high enough to stand a chance is to start the game using "Retry" and build your characters up a few levels right before you meet him. (Using retry also quadruples your earned experience and gold for the battle!)

Gades blade

Sent in by Dave Romig, Jr. Gades blade can be found in the Ancient Cave. It can be taken in and out of the Ancient Cave. It has 200 ATP and uses 100 percent of your IP to perform "Octo-strike" which attacks your enemies normally eight straight times. Note that the Gades Blade does not work on the Undead. Only Guy can equip it.

How do you get the key to the V.I.P room at Forfeit`s Casino?

Sent in by Johnny Eagle The "key" you're looking for is the VIP card. After you've recovered the Ruby Icon, you'll be sent back to Dankirk for the signing ceremony. After it's done, and you have control over your characters again, Warp back to Auralio. Go to the second floor of the "palace" and speak to the Prince. He'll thank you and agree to open the watergate for you. Speak to him again, and you'll receive the VIP card that lets you into the VIP room in the Casino.

999 stats

Sent in by realwedgieman@juno.com Note: You must have 4 people in your party for this trick. There is an error in this game which might help some people who wish to wiz through the game a lot easier. Press X to go to your menu. Select Config, and go down to Sound. Next, switch from Mono to Stereo. If it's already on Stereo, then switch it to mono and then stereo. After you do this, part or all of your item box should appear. Press B to exit. Press X again and look at your character in the fourth slot! He/She will be dead or alive with strange stats (mostly good) Save into a slot that nobody is using (recommended in case of permanent error in that file). Now every time you reload that file, your stats for that person will change. Most stats will be up to 999. You can also switch other party members to the 4th slot and change them around too!

Walkthrough

Lake Cave near Sundelton What order do I shoot the monsters with arrows to open the door? The order you must shoot the monsters to open the door is the order in which you first killed them. Where do I find Foomy? Foomy is the first capsule monster you will find and he is in the woods near Sundelton. Wander around west of Sundelton and go around the mountains. In the middle of a field will be a single large tree, walk to the tree and you'll find Foomy. Ruby Cave Where do I find Armor Dog? Armor Dog is another monster. He can be found in the Ruby cave. You must bomb down a wall and enter a portal in order to find him. How do I defeat the tarantula guarding the ruby apple? The tarantula is pretty tough and I would recommend equipping the Insect Crush sword on your strongest character. Be wary of poison, sleeping, and being paralyzed. Be sure to bring awaken, antidote, and mystery pin to cure all of these special attacks. Sword Tower I'm in a room with two boxes and plaque that says I can blow up boxes with bombs, what do I do? Lay one box on the left, and another box on the right and remember to continue to walk forward. How do I turn all of the blocks yellow in the 1st yellow and red tile room? Take the yellow tile from the far left, and place at the far right next to the red tile. Cave Bridge How do I kill the reappearing monsters? First you must kill the two monsters in front of the black orb, then smash the orb with your sword. Where do I find Shaggy? Shaggy is another capsule monster and he can be found in the north dungeon. Lighthouse I'm in a room with 4 pillars and an there is an area on the tiles that is a different color, what do I do? You must push the pillars onto the different colored tiles. (The different colored tiles are arranged like a square.) After you push the four pillars on the tiles, a bridge like floor will rise. How do I defeat Idura? Idura is pretty tough so strategy is important. Equip the Cold Rapier to Maxim. The cold rapier IP ability is Glacial Blast which does about 550 points of damage each time you use it. It also uses up A LOT of IP so you can't use it often. Phantom Tree Mountain How do I open the first door? Get in the middle of the three reappearing plants and place a bomb. Slash your sword 5 times so the bomb explodes and all of the plants will blow up. Now the door will open. How do I get all of the grass to grow in order to open the door? Start at the lower left, go right 2, up 1, right 1, up 2, left 1, down 1, left 1, up 1, left 1, down 2. Now make the remaining two plants grow. How do I put the pots on the switches when the floor keeps cracking? First you must push the other blocks onto the other switches. (These are found in the same room.) In the left of a room is a floor that cracks where ever you step. Here are the directions to place the pots and walk upon the floor: Start at the right of the entrance, up 2, right 6, get pot, up 2, left 2, down 1, left 4, down 1, left 2, up 4, drop pot on your right, pick up the pot in front of you, up 1, drop pot in front of you, right 1, pick up pot below you, up 1, drop pot on switch, pick up pot on left, right 1, drop pot on switch, down 4, right 3, up 1, right 1, go up the ladder and you're through! I'm in Aleyn and I can't get Jyad to finish the ship. What do I do? Stay at the Inn twice and the ship should be done. If not stay another night. Tower of Sacrifice A wall is blocking my path, how do I get passed it? In this tower you will find a room with stairs leading down and a wall in your way. Go down the stairs and you will find three cracked pillars, use bombs to destroy these pillars to lower the wall. How do I get passed the two black balls? You will come to a room with 2 blocks, spikes surrounding a switch, and two black balls you can't pass. Push the blocks in front of the black balls and switch the switch. Then step on the other switch in the room. Karloon North Shrine How do I open the door in the room with a pillar and a broken pillar laying on the floor? Use bombs to destroy what's left of the pillar to reveal a switch. Then push the pillar onto the switch to open the door. Where do I find Radisher? Radisher is another capsule monster. He can be found on top of Flower mountain. The Ruby Icon was stolen in Dankirk, what do I do? Go back to the town Clamento and talk to Jaffy, the glass maker. He will make you a new one. Dankirk North Cave How do I get past the eye on the wall that closes the door? Push the pillar in front of the eye and walk around the pillar, out of sight of the eye. I'm in the lower right corner of the room with the four rows of spikes and the two red switches, what do I do? In the corner is a skeleton, use a bomb to blast away the skeleton to reveal a switch. Press the switch to open the wall. Then go up and you will see a wall covered with vines, cut away the vines to reveal a dark colored wall. Use several bombs to blast away the wall. I'm in a room with 2 switches, a red switch above me, and block pillars that move up and down when I step on the pillars, what do I do? The fall wall in this room is covered with vines, cut away the vines on both sides to reveal two eyes. Use your hook to close the eyes and a block will fall on the switch. The block pillars at the end of the room will go down and you can now cut away the vines at the very far wall to reveal another eye. Close this eye with your hook and the red switch will fall. Hit the switch with your sword and go down the stairs. I'm in a room with a purple chest and a portal, and I can't get to the chest, what do I do? Enter the portal and you will come to a room similar to the one you were just in. Move the block onto one of the switches and one of the candles should light up.
